Eden Rain opens her year with “Open Season”, and she does it with the kind of voice that makes you stop what you are doing for a moment. The song gives her plenty of room which is the best choice here. Her vocals sit right at the front, soft but sure, while the music stays warm and never too busy. This release connects to her wish to be more honest and a little rough around the edges and that comes through in the writing. The lyrics have a sharp and personal touch, but they still sound easy to follow. It is beautiful, careful and quietly addictive.
