Eli Lev’s upcoming EP “Past Lives” is more than just music, it’s a personal time machine wrapped in melody and memory. Even before its official release in October, I had the chance to listen to it early and I can honestly say this is some of Eli’s best work yet. It’s emotional, raw and beautifully made. Eli included the real voices of his ancestors in these songs which makes it feel even more special. It’s like they’re right there with us, telling their stories. That emotional connection makes the whole EP feel incredibly alive and real.
The EP begins with “Echo” a calm and soothing song built on acoustic guitar and gentle vocals. The production is clean and balanced, allowing Eli’s voice and words to truly shine. I especially loved how the song builds toward the end, there’s this emotional lift that makes the chorus really stick with you.
Next is “Where We Come From” the only single released so far and it’s full of energy and heart. The lyrics are powerful and Eli’s voice feels rich and alive. It’s one of those songs you can’t help but sing along to after a few listens. It captures a deep sense of history and pride, without being heavy or complicated.
“My Wish Was You” follows with a lighter and more emotional touch. The songwriting here is simple but honest and the production gives the lyrics space to breathe. It feels like a love letter to a past moment or a person who mattered deeply.
Then comes “Who I Was” a song that truly stopped me in my tracks. The piano is soft and beautiful and the melodies are unforgettable. This one feels like a journal entry sung out loud. The backing voices add so much emotion, like memories echoing through time. It’s the kind of song you’ll want to play over and over.
Finally, the EP closes with “Our Friends” and it couldn’t be a more perfect ending. With acoustic guitar and haunting vocals, it gently honors those we’ve lost. The lyrics are full of love and remembrance and it left me feeling both emotional and comforted.
Eli Lev’s EP “Past Lives” is deeply personal but also very relatable. It invites us into a space of memory, family and self-reflection. Each song feels like a chapter in a book you don’t want to end. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering his music, this EP is something special. Don’t miss it when it drops in October, your heart will thank you.
