goodkitty, the project of Katie Colt caught all of my attention with her new single “The Right Kind”, and there is a lot to love here. The song opens with driving piano, strong drums, and guitars that give the track real movement. Colt’s vocals are rich and full of character and her writing tells a story about two people who want each other but cannot be together. I really enjoyed the melodies, especially when the chorus arrives and everything opens up. The production is sharp, the instruments work beautifully together and Colt shows strong writing and production skills from start to finish. Enjoy it!
