Wayward released a new single called “Alive” and the story behind it is simple but fun. The song follows a woman who steps out of her truck at a red light and starts dancing while everyone waits. That picture gives the track a bright character from the start. Hand claps and a gospel choir bring more life as the song moves forward, while the ending turns acoustic and softer. I think this is one of the best country songs I’ve heard in the last 3 or 4 months. The writing is catchy and easy to follow with a small everyday moment turned into something memorable.
