LISTEN TO THE ALBUM HERE

Dewey Kincade’s new album “The Dark Ages” is a powerful and emotional journey through light, darkness and everything in between. With 20 tracks in total, this record feels like a true storybook that shares honesty, struggle and hope.

The album opens with “Tied to the Rhythm” a fun and energetic track that immediately grabs your attention. The production is sharp, the instruments sound full and Dewey’s voice shines with confidence. Right after that, “Down in the Valley Again” keeps the energy alive with strong vocals and rich instrumentation that feels alive and full of heart.

Things get softer with “All Alone in This Together” a song full of beautiful melodies and easy-to-love lyrics. It has a sweet and emotional feel that stays with you. “Borderlands” adds a nice rhythm and catchy vocals, showing this artist’s natural ability to blend folk and rock sounds.

One of the highlights of the album is “You Don’t Know (What You Think You Know)” which is my favorite here and stands out with its great delivery and amazing mix of vocals and instruments. It’s catchy, honest, and feels very real. “Shadow” slows things down beautifully, bringing in touching lyrics and gentle melodies that show Dewey’s emotional side.

Songs like “Shit Piles Up” and “I Can’t Get to Sleep” show his folk roots in full color, the vocals feel raw and captivating, the songwriting honest and simple but powerful. “Pissed It All Away” adds another emotional moment with heartfelt lyrics and touching delivery.

Throughout this album, you can hear how much life experience shaped these songs. Dewey wrote them during a time when music seemed far away, after moving from New York to Louisville to raise his family. Yet, even through tough times, his creativity never stopped. You can feel both the weight of struggle and the light of love in his words and melodies.

This album moves through folk, rock and even touches of blues and Americana. It feels personal, homemade and deeply touching. It’s like a collection of moments from someone who has lived, loved, and learned. Dewey Kincade’s new record is not just an album but it’s a reminder that even in hard times, there’s still hope and music to be found.
