Eliza Marshall’s new EP “New Birth” is a breath of fresh air. It’s gentle, emotional and full of creative spirit. Known for her incredible skills as a flautist, she now steps into the spotlight with her first solo release. And she does it with beauty and depth.

The EP opens with the title track “New Birth” a peaceful and rich introduction. The instruments feel earthy and alive, blending traditional sounds with soft vocals that float in like the morning light. It’s a warm and grounding start that gently pulls you into her world.

Next comes “First Light” which slows things down even more. This track is minimal, almost like a quiet whisper, but it carries a deep emotional weight. There’s a haunting beauty to it and the simple melody lets you feel every note. It’s the kind of track that makes you stop what you’re doing and just listen.

The final track, “Our Times” stands out in its own way. It keeps the organic style of the first two tracks but adds a fresh twist in sound and rhythm. There’s a slightly hypnotic feel, almost like a modern take on minimalism. You can tell Eliza is experimenting here, stepping outside of her comfort zone and it pays off.

What really makes this EP special is how carefully it’s made. Every sound feels placed with purpose. Eliza’s flute playing is, of course, stunning, but she also gives space to the other instruments, like balafon, percussion, vocals and all woven together so naturally. You can hear the influence of the amazing musicians she worked with. Their talents, along with thoughtful production by Graeme Pleeth, make the three tracks feel like a full musical journey rather than just a short collection.

There’s something deep about this EP. It’s not trying to be loud or flashy, it’s just quiet and honest. It speaks of beginnings, change, and connection. Eliza has said this project helped her find her voice as an artist and that voice comes through loud and clear. She mixes her classical background with global sounds and creates something truly her own.

The EP is short but powerful. It’s perfect for a quiet morning, a reflective walk or any moment when you want to feel grounded. The production is clean and detailed and the emotion in every track is real. This EP will definitely find a home in my daily playlist and I think it will for many others, too.
