Spitfire Sparks has released his new album “From Local To Global”, and this is not a project I would rush through. With 17 tracks, there is a lot here, but the album keeps moving well and gives you plenty to come back to. His voice is rich, his delivery is strong, and from the first tracks you can hear how comfortable he is on the mic. This is one of the best records I’ve heard this year!
What makes me love this artist sound is the confidence in his rapping. He sounds in control of every verse and his flow works well with the beats around him. The production is solid and polished, but it still has enough character to keep each track interesting. The instrumentals also suit his voice very well, almost like they were made especially for his voice and style.
There are so many strong hooks across the album, but I would not tell you to choose only one or two tracks. “From Local To Global” works better as a full listen. The album was built over three years, and that time shows in the amount of ideas, stories, and changes across the tracklist.
Spitfire Sparks uses the album to look back at the highs, lows, changes, and new experiences of the last few years. He also brings in the wider world around him, shaped by connections he made with people in different places. The album leaves a very clear picture of an artist who knows his voice, knows his sound, and has a lot more to show ahead.
